Panda

Panda is an orphaned horse, born into a very particular and painful situation for many of his peers: the infamous Colleferro seizure of 2013, which involved over 200 horses, donkeys, mules, and hinnies, mistreated by a pseudo-breeder. Among them was Panda's mother, who, like other females, was in an advanced stage of pregnancy. While waiting to find her a home, we took her to a safe place to receive initial care, and she gave birth almost immediately to her foal. Sadly, however, she died just two days later due to postpartum complications. We found a veterinarian who lived nearby and who was able to care for the little one during the first, very delicate period when he had to be bottle-fed. At birth, he had a dark coat and two white circles around his eyes: that's why we named him Panda! At seven months old, having begun weaning, we took him to the rescue center, where he found a group of his peers with whom he grew up free. But his troubles haven't completely left him: a few years ago, following uveitis and despite treatment, Panda went blind. This disability hasn't changed his lifestyle, thanks to the group of friends who guide him. Furthermore, in the summer he suffers from a bothersome dermatitis that we only manage with daily treatments. He's happy, and that's the most important thing.
